Mergers and Acquisitions Associate

We are seeking a highly qualified mid-level M&A Bengoshi Associate to work in our Tokyo office. The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years (classes 2019 - 2021) of experience working on complex public and private company mergers and acquisitions and drafting definitive transaction agreements, as well as managing all other aspects of a strategic transaction. Experience with either private equity, joint ventures, venture capital, capital markets, corporate governance, or securities law compliance matters will be considered a plus. All candidates should have industry knowledge in the financial, industrial, renewable energy, energy, technology, and/or life sciences sectors. Candidates should have native Japanese language capability and fluent English. Superior academic credentials from a top 50 U.S. law school, Am Law 100 firm experience, and excellent oral and written fluency in Japanese and English are required. The candidate must have been admitted to the bar in the U.S. New York, California, or Washington D.C. Bar is a plus.

Education

All international candidates must be in the top 25% of their graduating class and graduated from one of the top 50 U.S. law schools, top U.K. law schools, or top international law schools. 


Work

All international candidates must have worked for a well-known law firm unless noted otherwise in the job description.
