Mergers and Acquisitions Attorney

We are seeking a highly qualified M&A associate to work in our Beijing office. The M&A associate will have 3 - 6 years (classes 2018 - 2021) of experience working on complex public and private company mergers and acquisitions and drafting definitive transaction agreements, as well as managing all other aspects of a strategic transaction. Experience with either private equity, joint ventures, venture capital, capital markets, corporate governance, or securities law compliance matters will be considered a plus. All candidates should have industry knowledge in the financial, industrial, energy, technology, and/or life sciences sectors. Candidates must be fluent in both English and Mandarin with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages. Interested candidates must possess a high level of academic achievement from a top law school in China and the U.S., Am Law 100 firm experience, and interpersonal skills. U.S. and China bar are required.

Patent Prosecution Attorney

We currently have openings for mid-level attorneys or IP Specialists in our Beijing office. The ideal candidate will have 3 - 6 years (classes 2018 - 2021) of patent prosecution experience. Exposure to a wide array of technologies is strongly preferred. Experience in appeal and invalidation proceedings is also strongly preferred. Responsibilities include working with the firm's clients and counsel in all aspects of the patent practice, including assisting in evaluating invention disclosures, drafting patent specifications and claims, preparing and prosecuting applications, and working on proceedings in the State Intellectual Property Office (“SIPO”). Candidates must be fluent in both English and Mandarin with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages. The candidate must have a license to practice before the State Intellectual Property Office (“SIPO”), have a master’s or Ph.D. in biology, chemistry, bioengineering, or similar life sciences field with excellent academic credentials from a major university in China or the U.S.

Education

All international candidates must be in the top 25% of their graduating class and graduated from one of the top 50 U.S. law schools, top U.K. law schools, or top international law schools. 


Work

All international candidates must have worked for a well-known law firm unless noted otherwise in the job description.
